Halo 2 or Far Cry?
What is so great about Halo or Halo 2?
What am I missing, because I don't see what is so amazing about the game.
It seems to me Far Cry blows it away.
 
Halo2 has dual weapons, awesome multiplayer (hated Farcry's MP), and teamwork with AI friendlies. A much more intriqueing storyline as well. Halo2 also has built in co-op which is awesome.

Farcry was pretty good, but I believe Halo2 is better.
 
FarCry. I brought my PC to a Xbox party (yea, I am crazy like that). We got bored of Halo 2 (Which is Halo w/ multi, not bad) but everone wanted to play Farcry. Nuff Said.
 
The original Halo was so overrated. Seems like the only reason everybody likes it is because it's te only decent game for the XBox.

I haven't played the second yet.

But FarCry is pretty good.

I think a lot of Halo players hadn't really played a multiplayer FPS before. And there is a certain thing about having some buddies gathered around a TV that isn't quite there with online PC games, much as I love them. Even a LAN isn't exactly the same.

But this guy is considering Halo 2 vs Farcry when HL2 comes out tomorrow ??
 
Graphic wise, Far Cry. Fun wise, Halo 2. It's more of the social atmosphere that makes it more fun to play. I'm a traditional online FPS player but you eventually realize that it's a really lonely way to play. Sure you're shooting at real players and they say weird things, but it sucks when you turn off the game and realize that... that's it. At least with Halo 2, when you quit you and your friends can go grab a pizza.
 
Halo2, It has a great story, good multiplayer, co-op is so much fun. And name a better CONSOLE shooter than Halo2 right now? I cant think of a single one that comes close, thats why its a huge hit. Also the little details like the grunts talking to each other, dual weapons, and being able to talk sh!t to my opponents face is so much better than typing it in.

Because console shooters suck. Halo 2 is decent, but nothing compared to good PC shooters.

except that you don't play PC shooters on the couch with a beer and 1000+ watts of 5.1 surround sound on a 70" plus screen at 100+ db.

Note that I said Console in big letters, apparently u didnt notice that. And I think Halo is just as good as alot of PC shooters. Most of you are just so hyped up on thinking that your computers are the greatest things ever that if a game isnt playable on a comp then its horrible. With the exceptions of a few computer FPS's Halo is still a top game. FarCry has a little edge, but Doom3 was a letdown and we dont know about HL2. Halo has a unique and interesting storyline that makes sense unlike many FPS games. The ability to ride vehicles (almost any vehicle for that matter) and hook up with AI marines in vehicles is just awesome. What PC FPS games are so almighty that they make Halo and Halo2 suck? That i really want to know.
 
From just a single player aspect, I think Farcry is much better than Halo 2. I just prefered the whole escape from the island story and I thought the voice acting and story telling was great. Playing both at Medium difficulty proved much more difficult on Farcry. Icing on the cake is that FarCry looked much better as well.

I just thought it was thought out and the difficulty on regular was just about perfect for me. Got stuck numerous times and would have to figure out different ways to do it. I thought the gameplay much more varied in ways to accomplish things.

meh, I don't play my HTPC that much. Something about the simplicity of consoles...

Agreed, I was one of those bastards that said that all console FPS' suck and that you need a mouse/keyboard to be a REAL FPS.

Well, I've been playing Halo 2 like crazy and I've pretty much mastered the joystick for movement/aiming/firing. Sure, it's not a mouse/keyboard, but you learn to adapt to whatever you're given.

Playing Halo 2 on a big screen TV (like we have here in our house) with 4 people sitting around yelling and screaming at each other is just something that I can't get with a PC FPS shooter.

Ive never understood this arguement, ive played just about ever FPS from Doom to UT2K4 and everything inbetween and Halo is BETTER then them all for the simple reason that its single player is unmatched, Great graphics, Great Interesting Story, Great Characters/ Enemys, AMAZING Music, arguibily the best ever in a video game, Great Gameplay, its paced perfectly as well, not to fast or slow but just right, teh weapons system is great and you have to take time to beat it not just runnin through guns blazing, and vehicles, that work and are fun to use, UT2K4 COPIED them from Halo

ill give you that games like UT and Q3A have better deathmatch modes but that is what the were made for, the multiplayer in halo 1 was fun as well because everyone can play and its fun having everyone right there, Halo 2 and XBL is just insane and IMO more fun then playing games like UT and such on the computer
 
More things ill add in here:
Xbox = 150$
Halo = 30$
Halo 2 = 50$

PC gameing rig = at least 1500$ to play whats new at a decent frame rate

and for you mouse/KB whiners you can hook them to the xbox but you dont need to, so what you are used to it, WELL ADAPT, the controller is perfectly suited for the game, you woudl need a 30 button mouse to make it work right

im sorry, but Halo 2's story line is quite weird, your human, then the other dudes, then back and forth all while saving the world from destruction. then you join together to go for the same spot, the human ends up on a ship, the other race stops Halo from being completely activated, and then the human says"im finishing this job" and its over. took me about 10 hours co-op or 3 days.
