So I picked it up. Anyone play it on PC yet? Can't access any gaming sites here at work so I can't check out reviews...Was my $4 investment worth it?

It ran like crap on my comp - was it just me? Did anyone else actually try playing this game? I had to run with everything on Medium settings on my 8800GTS 320mb to get framerates above 30.

Payed $55 or so on launch day for the collectors edition for the xbox 1, waste of money... probably worth $4.

I bought it when gogamer had it on one of their sales, but didn't have vista at the time so haven't installed it yet to try.

Ran like crap on my 8600 as well and the graphics are pretty crappy. It basically ran on a P3/733on the Xbox....whoever did the port seriously sucks. I played about 20 minutes and haven't gone back.

Ran horribly on an 8400GS at 800x600. The game is simply a LOUSY PC port. Just basically ran my way through the campaign on easy and never touched it again (dont have an XBOX so wouldn't have been able to play it otherwise).

It runs well for me, I own it and it's currently installed on my Vista x64 partition, it's a decent game, I play it occasionally, but I still prefer the original, which I do own as well, I will probably buy Halo 3 when it comes out for PC, I never got to play it more than 30 minutes at my local Future Shop and I liked what I saw. I'm generally not too hard to please when it comes to FPS'es. And yes, for $4 it's definitely worth it.

yes, Halo might not offer anything incredibly unique for PC gamers, however it does have one of the better immersive single player campaigns...even if you only play through it once, $4 is essentially a rent you don't have to worry about returning.

$4? Totally. I paid more than that for the coffee and muffin I had this morning and they only lasted for 15 minutes, Halo 2 will surely last you longer than that, crappy port or not.

I sold it very shortly after buying it because I couldn't stand how it worked. The dual wielding blocked too much of the screen and it was too console-ish for my taste.

Yeah... that tends to happen with console games :p

Seriously though, the Halo games are pretty awful

Meh... halo 2 is boring compared to the first one, i cant pinpoint why but i just lost interest eventually. On the PC its a bit worse than the console because you must have vista for it to work, unless you want to try and get a workaround for it which imo isnt worth the effort.

Still for $4, if your a fan might as well get it.

Make no mistake though halo 1 was the game with the interesting fun single player experience, halo 2 is the unloved middle child of the series, its drab and boring and not as good as the first.

I liked the first one, still have it installed and occasionally fire it up to play. The 2nd just sucked. Way too dumbed down.
