I assume National CineMedia is doing this so people can look for it in Cinemark and AMC theatres as well.

Also, John Carpenter is the man.
 
You are absolutely right SC, it is one of the best horror movies! Man, I loved this movie! I went to see it at 12. I even chipped my tooth (fell down some stairs) because I thought Michael Myers was chasing me! Boy, the imagination of a 12 yr old!
 
Ah, I knew there were some fans out there. It's one of the biggest cult classics ever. And you're right Carpenter is the man... the music also makes the film. John showed it to Debra Hill w/out the music and she wasn't scared in the least bit... but after he put his simple spooky arrangement together it really brought the evil emotions out in the film and created a dark creepy character.

Oh, and the Thing rocks too!

Ah yes, I remember this movie. I'll have to pick it up on DVD... it's been ages since I first saw it. Definately a classic!
 
if you wait until december 5th, they are releasing a new special edition dvd of 'black christmas'.
