My friends and I grew up in wichita, KS and there was supposed to be this bridge where two women were tied to and the town set the bridge on fire from both ends and the ladies died. The town rebuilt the bridge, and every time they did, the bridge would burn down on its own. Finally the town gave up and re-routed the road. Supposedly the bridge is still haunted, and several people had claimed to see strange things there. So my friends and I found someone who knew where it was and went out there.
We got to the bridge late at night, you could tell that it had been closed (and re-routed) hundreds of years ago, as we walked to the bridge we found it completely burnt, however the large timbers used as horizontal supports were still standing (charred however). As we balanced across the bridge nothing seemed to happen.. We got across and looked around a little, and decided to head back.. While we were balancing across the bridge again, we noticed some light coming from where the brige met land on the other side.. As we got closer we noticed it was a fire... This fire appeared to have been burning for at least a couple hours (you know how a campfire looks after it has been going awhile, a lot of embers and such) but we were only on the otherside for MAYBE 30mins.. Totally freaked out we hauled ass out of there.
