Halloween: an excuse for girls to dress like sluts?

I was reading Bill Simmons' column on ESPN.com, and his wife has a little sidebar on the lower-right corner that says that girls typically use Halloween to dress more sluttily than usual. Is this true? If so, why stop with Halloween? Why not make everyday your very own dress-like-a-slut day?

Me and two friends dressed up like "Deal or No Deal" models for a Halloween party last weekend. We bought silver suitcases and wore black dresses and wigs, although we didn't go super-slutty or anything. Girls always used to use Halloween as an excuse to dress like total sluts. Now you don't need an excuse because it's OK to dress like a slut in any situation. If you plan on dressing like a cat or a nurse this weekend, or if you plan on wearing a push-up bra with a shirt unbuttoned to your navel, just head to a club after the party and nobody will realize you're wearing a costume.

The slutty girls are the worst. They vandalize more than even reckless teenaged boys, they scream and shout, and you can't do anything about it lest you be branded a deviant.
 
At Rice the biggest party of the year is the saturday before halloween - called NOD (Night of Decadence). Basically it's boxers/less for the guys and panties+pasties for the girls, and it's huge, and everyone is trashed.

Good times are had by all.
 
this is another one of those "why do girls dress in tight clothes at the gym?" threads.

If you really need to know the answer, roll over in bed and ask the naked man that is obviously laying next to you.
