Somehow, injecting female hormones (progestin) does not seem like a good idea.

That's like giving a woman testosterone.

This is great, but like others mentioned, the side effects on the sperm long term have not been documented. We need a study with couples who want to have kids, but not right now. Have them take the injections for 12-18 months, then have kids, then measure the kids developments, measure the ease of getting pregnant, etc etc. I'm in AP Stats right now, so we talk a lot about science research. This has a long way to go.

I read an article about the stuff earlier, it claimed no increased risk of prostate growth. But that was only an 18 month study, and it was rather old (2000). There's probably more out there, I didn't search too much.

I would be concerned about this as well.
