My Steam Client crashed on the new downloaded patches....and now a few games under Orange Box won't even load. Tried about everything to get to work....nothing. So now I must reload the entire game.

My question is: is there a way to fast forward to the point I left off on in Episode 1?...or save a few game files to get there again? I don't want to play through all the Episode 1 story again. thx
 
There should be a save folder in the HL2 directory under Steam. Just navigate to it, back it up, and replace it after the reinstall.
 
Thanks TheVrolok...... I found the save folder. I wish the Steam platform was more stable....seems like every month there is a new problem with it.
