Hah.

I guess they would mail it to ya in a pretty box.

So what happens to all of us who registered our HL2 coupon through Steam? Will we be shipped the Bronze package or will we have to buy the cds?

HL2 is not being released today. This is a pre-order. You WILL however be able to play the final version of Counterstrike: Source today if you buy.

Day of Defeat:Source

Is this the original in the source engine???? I am not terribly familiar with the whole HL2 thing. But will this include graphical updates?

LOL why would they send them in PDF?

It doesn't really defeat the purpose of steam because you still get the game immediately; you only have to wait for stickers and other (hard copy) stuff.

Maybe the video forum people can help me... I've asked this question in the software forum thread but, nodbody has answered.

I am inclined to buy the retail package because I like DVD's instead of having to re-download 4 Gigs of data. The special edition retail version has all of the source software as the steam versions except day of destruction (DoD).

Has anyone played this mod and is it worth going with a downloaded version vs. retail? If I don't have to give any money to greedy Vivendi it would be a plus! 😛

I'm a CS player through and through but Day of Defeat has always been able to play me away from CS. It's an amazing mod and if you have the original HL I highly recommend you DL and try it.

Steam it may be then 😛 Thank SithSolo.

BTW... does anyone know what "Valve's back catalog currently available on Steam " is??? Is this the original Valve titles (without the source???) Don't know of what value their back catlog is?

Anyone out there burning these downloads to DVD / CD (any hiccups with that)?

Going OT but......

We get to ride the rail car? (HL Intro) WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Almost makes me want to buy it.

So is the origional HL1 going to be revamped to the new graphics engine?

I think Half-Life: Source is not really a revamping of HL as it is a port of HL to the Source engine. All the screenshots I've seen show only a moderate graphical improvement.

Anyone know if CS:Source includes more player models now?

*edit* it looks like the answer to my question is no
