Now that everyone is postorgasmic from the DOOM3 frenzy, has anyone read any reviews of which hardware is best suited to HL2? I think it's the radeon. x800xt.
 
Yeah, I just came back from my trip into the future, when HL2 was actually released in retail format and we could get accurate comparisions of real hardware in true gameplay scenarios without marketing BS and speculation getting in the way ... but I can't post the results, or the world will explode. :roll:

BTW, Duke Nukem Forever looks awesome on the new ATI xXx20000 Platinum Turbo Type-R Edition.

OMG when i see things like XXX Card is the best for XXX game, i need to KILL THOSE people. How can be anybody so funny? The min for HL is 4MX so logiv¨caly the best for anything is the fastest SILLY. In year 2012 would be the best VGA for DOOM6 or HL5 the fastest Ati y900 and GeForce 11600. I hate this
If your good enought in optimalization PC you can play Doom on 1.6,384MB RAm,and on 440MX so HL2 engine shoud be lighter for VGAs so you can play it on everything

well, i am glad some people here have a BRAIN. I cant believe how much marketing hype is dominating the discussions. Even here at anand's, the topic list is half filled with DOOM (pun intended). Consumeriasm at its best. Will we have to commit hari-kari if we cant upgrade? A little perspective is needed. What better way to regain perspective than to think about what will be here in 6 months, a year? (2 years not possible-we might be using quantum computers with a wet-ware interface eliminating the need for monitors)
 
Well i say it so, im only buyng mainstream VGAs like FX5200 ( OC to 325/550 😛 ) and now i buyed R9550 and i can play everything what i want, D3 on 8x6 Med? np, i dont need more. I dont need 16x12/4xAA/8xAF with 60 FPS. Im a normal person not Deamon PLAYER so for me mainstrem 🙂 Dont need **** like 6800, my FX was 1.5 year old when i replaced it with R9550 and i hadnt any problems in games, Far Cry, .. bla bla bla everything, i know how to give my PC a good Otymalization

Heh 🙂 no im only working with PC since 1996. Ive got my own org. and yearly i build about 250 PC so i need to know how to do the PC the Fastest 🙂 and name of my PC is 7xuht656ddrh, nice isnt it? 🙂))

didnt deem it stupid - just trying to add perspective with a touch of sardonicism. If the next reply was yours instead of the other 2 cynical fellows, i might have replied in earnest. That would have been-'i think i'm getting carried away and i need to get off this train , but thanks.'
