Is it just me or is half of the Internet inaccessible? Is there a major router somewhere that went down?

I can connect to some IRC servers and not to others. Ditto for Teamspeak.
 
I've been having the same problems all morning. I can't get to a few sites I normally go to and others are very slow. Must be a big router down somewhere...hopefully not some big-time DDOS attack.
 
many sites are down for me also on AT&T/SBC DSL here in the SF Bay Area. All those sites work properly on my AT&T/Cingular phone though but I get sllooowww EDGE speeds at my home (I get 3g outside my home though 🙁)

I cant even access that internetpulse link that Chris gave above...
 
I don't know. Everything is going slow for me, but it could be that 10 active bittorant downloads I've got going right now.
 
This probably explains a client complaint around 2AM complaining two of our sites were inaccessible but we had no problems.
 
it was weird - I'm on ATT U-Verse from Houston, TX... a handful of sites worked last night, and a handful didn't - probably around 11pm to 1 or 2am central time.

then I checked http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ to check CNN and a few other large sites and it had no problem confirming they were up and it was just my problem... but then 10 seconds later, all the sites started working again.

question: even if a router goes down along the backbone(s), shouldn't almost any server that I go through have a recent/cached page that can load?
 
sunnyvale here as well, intertubes were down and a lot of the boards were down and none of the spyware sites were acessible. so I thought if it was some sort of spyware on my system. turned it on this morning and all is fine.
