Half Life won't even run setup program.

I put the cd in, loads the auto-run, I click install, cd spools up and nothing ever happens. No errors, just nothing. I've tried rebooting to no avail. Any ideas?
 
whenever I've had this problem, it's usually something gone screwy with the autoplay function. Try exploring the cd, and try double-clicking on setup.exe yourself, bypassing the autoplay. If that still doesn't work, try WinXP's compatibility mode.

Maybe try the disc on another machine or CD-ROM drive, to eliminate CD damage as the culprit?
