Half Life Theft Arrests!

"Within a few days of the announcement of the break-in, the online gaming community had tracked down those involved."
And they are just getting around to arresting them now?

Gabe Newell is a fat asshole. Code leak or not that game was never coming out 09/30/2003. Heck, I will be shocked it it comes out by 9/30/2004.

I concur - and your custom title rocks. 😀

I actually think that the code theft hyped up the game even more.. I agree that stealing code and the act of breaking into their systems is completely illegal, but I doubt that the incident would ruin/spoil the game sales in anyway. Those hackers aren't out to ruin the company, nor try to release their own version of the game, they were just too anxious in seeing it. The best form of flattery, Gabe didn't have to bust out the cops.

Or could this be a conspiracy to help promote the game coming out?

Yes, of course, because the FBI is always participating in schemes to help out a game promotion. 😉
