I have the game of the year edition of half life and when I installed it, at the very beginning of the installation, I got a message saying uninstaller failed to initialize, program may not be able to uninstall. Well I went ahead with the installation and now when I go to uninstall from the sierra utilities menu I get a message saying "the log file c:\sierra\half-life\uninst.isu is not valid or has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue." So I cannot automatically uninstall. How should I do it manually? Both of the errors remain after reinstalling half-life again.
Also, after I have installed half-life through those errors and go to update with patches and whatnot from the sierra updater or whatever I always get errors so that I can never finish the update. When I go to try and play counter-strike, which is really the only reason I want half-life on my computer now, it says I have a version too early essentially and that I need to update to be able to play. Also the search for servers is ungodly slow compared to how it was on my old system. If there is a special way to install halflife game of the year edition then get cstrike that I am not doing please let me know what it is.
Thanks
