Anyone else have problems when running Half Life with anti aliasing enabled? It basically causes my game to be unplayable. Its almost as if the game goes into slow motion. Its not choppy, everything is just delayed. Any tips/fixes? My rig specs are in my sig, but heres a summary:

Epox 8kha+
XP 1800+ @1701
Abit Siluro Geforce 4 ti4400 @310/690
512 mb ddr pc 2100 ram

hmm, i have same mobo, but gf3. what are your frames (even though you say not choppy). also, play a SP game so that you know it is not lag at all (just a guess).

Hmm, something's wrong. Back with my 1 ghz system and a Geforce 3, i was able to play Counterstrike with 2xfsaa smoothly, and i think 4x was still kinda playable. Something seems wrong, but i'm not just sure what the problem might be... Hmm, i'm assuming it runs fine w/o fsaa?

Are you running OpenGL or D3D? Does it affect both?

Is this related to specific maps or all of them? If it's specific maps (in DoD), try typing 'stopsound' into the console.

It's not lag- I ping between 30-50.

It stays maxed at 85 fps

Yep, maxed at 85 fps.

I've always run in D3D, I'll try opengl.

If anyone else has ideas, please let me know.

Opengl was the key! Thanks, guys

He pretty much summed it up there. Switching to opengl fixed everything up. It never occured to me to run in in opengl, since I never have. Oh well, thanks everybody.
