Half Life: Blue Shift... Opinions?

I heard the game itself is good, but it is like 1/10 the size of the original Half Life. Is this correct?

Is it worth $30?

Its basically the same sort of gameplay as Halflife. Nothing new at all. Its very short, like afternoon playing short. Its probably not worth the $$.

I would say 1/2 the size of OpFor. Like I said in another post if I were to do it again with all the puzzles known I would probably do it in 2-3 hours. I think I'll try that actually.

About 2/3 the size of OpFor, but, for those who don't have it, it comes packaged with OpFor, adding to the value.

Well, its too short, thats for sure. Plus the plot sucked, there was no big monster to dispose of half way through, the gun battles were few and far between, the AI of the soldiers wasnt that good compared to HL and OpFor, the appearance of aliens was too predictable. It just ended with no big battle at the end, and no major objective to achieve. I downloaded better single player missions from the web. If you love HL, then you might as well buy it, but its no OpFor.

I wish I could play it for more then 15min w/o my pc locking....It's the only game that gives me problems.

The graphical update is worth something, and the inclusion of OpFor makes it worth buying.

don't buy it. Borrow it from a friend or umm...."obtain it elsewhere".
I played through the whole thing in less than 4 hours. Way too easy.

MrBond,
I have the Creative Annihilator too.

The game will lock up on me every couple of minutes if I use OPENGL, so I changed to Direct3D & turned my Vsync back on. (I usually have it off)
The lockups stopped.

Maybe that info will help/ maybe not, but I figured I'd post it cuz I know how frustrating lockups can be.

took me 2 hours to finish Blue Shift... but opposing force came with it and im replaying that.. OptForce is 1000 times better than Blue Shift i think.. but Blue Shift adds a great finish to the story... (the whole slip gate thing)
