I own the Platinum Edition of Half Life, and it came with 4 CDs: Half Life, OpForce, TFC, and Counter Strike. I have a have few questions.

1) Every time I go to play Half Life or OpForce, it tells me to insert the CD. Before my rig upgrade, I never had to insert a CD to play. Is there any way to turn this off?

2) I like to play with Jumbots. Is there any way to stop it from logging onto WON or connecting to a server when I go to set up a "multiplayer" game?

3) Now it's saying my .exe is out of date, and needs to be upgraded. Once again, I never had this problem before. I upgraded to 1.0.1.5 today, but I still have the same problem.

Thanks!

Not within the regular Half-Life options. What you can simply do is download the CD-check crack which allows you to play without having the CD in your drive. Since a full install uses nothing from the CD anyway, having to put the CD in the tray is merely an annoyance. Er, PM me for details on this.

Short of pulling out your DSL/cable/dialup modem line, I would think not. If you'd like to play alone though, just put a password on your game and dole it out to only those you want to join (or noone).

Argh! I've had this problem ever since I used the patch on my copy of Half-Life (from the Adrenalin Pak deal). It's a minor annoyance, but if you click Cancel it lets you proceed to the server selection menu without complaining again. I'd love to see a fix for this one, though.

If you want to play against bots on your own, or at least without anyone from the Internet joining you, you can just create a LAN game. Works great for playing vs bots and testing stuff.
