Half Life and Win2k

Okay, for some strange reason, my gamma settings in Control Panel->Display Properties for my NVIDIA TNT2 ULTRA w/ 6.31 Win2k drivers, DOES NOT AFFECT HALF LIFE AT ALL.

Before I run Half Life(openGL mode) I boost the gamma up in Win2k. Then when i enter the game, it's dark. SO...when I exit the game, guess what? My gamma settings are gone and the desktop looks as if I didn't touch my gamma settings at all!

This process worked perfectly in Windows98, so I have no idea why it doesn't work for Windows 2000.

I think Win2k for some reason sets games to a different refresh rate when you enter games. So I'm guessing that the gamma settings are set differently as well maybe? There is a fix for this though. The nvidia refresh rate registry fix can be downloaded here: link.
