anyone else angered by how well hl2 runs on low end systems? Well not angered but the question i upgraded for this? Great game yet we never really needed to upgrade, my buddys 2.6 p4 and 4400 run hl2 full settings! and my 1gig with 5200 and 256 sdram run cs:s no lag well ob that low settings but still! A comp older then 5 running it? And well? it just seems odd
or that i am an idiot for every buying a 6800.

I'd rather have the nicer computer to be able to run it at insane settings to get all the eye candy. Otherwise theirs not much difference between HL2 and the original except the physics engine.

The game was designed that way, to run in a great range of videocards. Regarding to a 5200 (I have seen) it runs HL2 like crap, specially if you use DX9 codepath.

he had a 2.6 533meg 512 ram 4400 run it full glory. given it is the fastest at loading yet it ran no lag. it seems like there should be a game to upgrade for yet this was not it. although the game did rule, cs source and the other hand looks like s*** compared to the game. that should have had more attention brought to it.
