Half-Life 3?

I dont know if this is anything new to anybody or anything, but I was just reading the Half-Life 2 FAQ on Planet Half-Life and came across this little peice of information:

"Half-Life 3 is planned, so expect another cliffhanger ending."

How exciting! I wonder what the system requirements are going to be.

It's called Duke Nukem.
Forever is the development time, it's not part of the name at all.

I think HL2 will come way before Duke Nukem Forever. I havent seen any screen shots or heard any news on duke in how many years? Is that game really even going to come out, ever?

Of course it is! They just want to make sure it is perfect before they release it.

Probably not much more than HL2. They will probably use the HL2 engine and spice it up a bit.

Unreal III . . . '06 - bet on it

at least these guys are 'on time' . . . like clockwork . . . even if the game Unreal II wasn't so great, the tweaked Unreal engine is pretty nice (DeuSex II with the patch although it is STILL a resource hog and Thief III with excellent "bloom" and pretty good gfx) . . .

i'd like to really "see" HL2 before i even begin to CARE about ver. 3 . . . no doubt there will be a HalfLife: theMovie first

Duke Nukem is a franchise. They'll make another Duke Nukem game because it will make money. The people that own Duke Nukem may change, but Duke is still a lucrative property and SOMEBODY is going to release a game with the name Duke Nukem sometime in the future. Is that somebody the people who totally and completely f****d up Duke Nukem Forever? Who knows. Maybe they'll go bankrupt and sell the assets to iD and Duke will be their new 'Intellectual Property'. Maybe they'll actually release it and we'll all be amazed at the gameplay. Probably not. Half-Life 2 looks like it's raising the bar so far high that the Duke camp will probably have to start from scratch all over again.

isn't duke nukem forever vaporware? i read in some magazines they're not making it anymore.

Hmm last I heard Duke Nukem Forever was still in development... apparently the developer has a sweet contract with their publisher... I say it will be the first game to be released with zero hype! No beefing up it's image for sales just poof and it's on shelves... could change the video game market forever.... Seriously though it's not out cause the engine they tried using models down to the atoms and computers just can't handle it yet... oh wait that wasn't serious : (

It took about 6 years between HL and HL2, so it's going to take 12-15 years for HL3.
