Half-Life 25th anniversary

BFG10K

An update just dropped out of nowhere, free to existing owners. Highlights include improved lighting, proper widescreen support, UI scaling for high resolutions (crosshairs are usable now), and the original menu from 1998.

Also has the original demo from 1998.

Maybe I should try it on my ultra wide to see how it plays out.

The entire UI has been reworked to scale at larger screen sizes. We built most of this stuff for 640x480 CRTs and apparently some of you have upgraded since then.

Half-Life's 25th anniversary update is here! It’s free for folks who already have it. Big stuff: better lighting, widescreen support, and UI scaling for fancy screens. Also, the old 1998 menu’s back, plus the original demo!
This looks like an "AI" regurgitation of my original post.

Looks like it's free to everyone, not just people who already had it on Steam. Still far and away my favorite FPS of all time, apologies to HL2 and COD4.

Bit of a shame Opposing Forces and Blue Shift didn't get similar treatment, but those were technically made by third parties if I recall (Gearbox?) and so aren't really Valve's deal.
