I have two gigs of ram but my loading time is still slow. I thought adding another gig of ram would lower the loading time but it didnt do much. My system is:

3200+ athlon 64
2 gigs of ram
1.5 gig of space left on my harddrive
x800xl
20 widescreen monitor with settings all high including AA and AF

And a bigger one too ;) 1.5gb of storage left? I couldn't live like that!

Umm...if you want, you can make it load faster by typing in +map_background none in the advanced launch options before you load up HL2 (right click on HL2 on your games list, then go to properties, and then click on set launch options...) It should load much quicker...

Agreed. More RAM won't make loading faster. It just makes it possible to load more off the HDD and keep it in the memory so that there's less swaping, but the actual loading is bottlenecked by how fast the HDD can spin.
