These pics have been posted here before, because I've seen them from here before. However, I'm sure the link is obscure as hell, so no repost-nazi from me. However, there was a story behind these pics explaining the existance of them, but without that other thread, we have nothing.

I remember Carmack talking about Lord of the Rings quality rendering in realtime in about 10 years. I haven't heard anything in a while though. It's all speculation anyway.
