Half Life 2 - Official Release Date?

I'm sure everyone has been eagerly awaiting Half Life 2.... for at least 2 years now. Does anyone have any OFFICIAL news regarding the release date?

Delay date? Anyone?

I believe sometime in early September is the latest quasi-official date.

There is no official release date, unfortunately. All we know is that we hear that Valve is going to had the code off (apparently) at the end of this month to publication. Counter Strike: Source is going into open beta tomorrow in some select computer cafes. I think its fair to say we'll probably see something in September, but you just never know. 🙂

I'm guessing sometime in September. First Half Life was delayed a year from it's initial release date, just a gamble it's going to happen again.
