I seriously had a dream last night about HL2 and woke up to the realization that I don't want this game at all. I will read the reviews and that's all. I am really looking forward to Doom3 however. It's probably the only game I am going to buy this year. Sorry to be a curmudgeon, but I think everyone reaches a point where every game seems like the same old thing with slightly better graphics. I wish I could enjoy games the way I used to... :(

I think I understand how you're feeling, but I think HL2 and D3 will both be incredible games in their own right. Doom 3 will be much more scarier, and HL2 a little more strategic? I just want them both damnit. I'm a gaming whore :p

We'll all have microchips implanted in our brains and simply think the text into our 3d 180 degree visual field display...

Honestly, I'm not sure I'm even going to bother. It's been my experience that when something takes *this* long, it's not a good thing, and the end product sucks enormous horse genitalia. Look at Star Wars episodes 1 & 2... If they have a demo I'll check that out, but I certainly won't unquestioningly buy it like I would have if it came out in '03. Crytek stole the show with Far Cry, as far as I'm concerned it was the game I was waiting for without even knowing it.

What I don't get is why people are so down on HL2's delays, I mean the game has been delayed all of 1yr, approxximately the same the HL1 was....people seem to have forgotten that. Doom is lke 18 months late, and nobody mocks it as vaproware.

Duke Forever deserves to be mocked for it's lateness, HL2 just proves that the gaming comminity is inundated with whiners

Exactly. It doesnt "cost" us anything to wait for them to make it better.

Yea, I saw your specs in the other forum. That 4600 will run it (albeit shoddy). What're you thinking about getting?

I personally found a good deal on an X800 XT for $385. I'm selling my 9700 PRO to help pay for it.
