Copy the materials folders to your <path to SteamApps>/<username>/Half-life 2/hl2/

The instructions are as simple as they can possibly be. Just put the materials folder in your SteamApps/<username>/Half-life 2/hl2/ folder.

For me, it became C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\igowerf\Half-Life 2\HL2\materials.

However, the original alyx didn't have that round face thing going on, and I REALLY hate the way her face is shaped in that one.

Yes, but her model frame skin looks significantly Asian. Oh well.

bleh... got them to work.... they all look like they've had too much plastic surgery... shiny and wrinkley. I heard that Valve originally planned to have more realistic characters in the game, but they stylized it a little because it was too creepy...
