Half-Life 2: Episode 1

i got nauseous just looking at the video

😛. not really, but there's no way Im wasting my money to get myself sick again
 
I was excited for this game when I first saw a trailer for it several months ago. Where have all of you been? 😛
 
Only ~$18 if you pre-buy it on steam. 😀 It looks good, I think this is a great idea by valve. I also like the whole commentary thing, that's a cool idea, I liked it in the HDR demo (even though it embarrassed my machine)
 
it looks sweet. i'm interested in knowing how she went from the flashpoint of the explosion to the ground near the bottom of the tower.
 
$20 for a "4 to 6 hour" episode? HL2 was supposed to take 40+ hours, took most people half that. Unless this includes future releases, I don't see myself paying $20 for it.
 
What is Alyx shooting that antlion with? Glock 18? It's a pretty small full auto pistol.

Maybe it's just some half-life fictional pistol.

Edit: it's the same gun that's on the website front page, which is definitely not a glock.

wasn't there a mod for half life ported to the half life 2 engine? it was supposed to be open source i believe. link anyone? i can't find it on google or remember it 🙁

there was half-life: source, which was basically just half-life with updated water graphics and physics, everything else the same i believe.

there was half-life: source, which was basically just half-life with updated water graphics and physics, everything else the same i believe.

It wasn't free though, it came with certain packages of HL2. I'm still having fun with CSS, so I probably won't get this right off the bat (plus I won't even have my computer available on June 1st), but later this summer we'll see.

He's talking about Black Mesa : Source, a community mod where they redid halflife from scratch.

Is this how they're doing the Half-Life2:Aftermath sequel release - episode by episode? Way to milk money out of the fan base, Valve.

Shouldn't it be called Half Life 2:Episode 2, since HL2 was 'Episode 1'? 😕
