Half Life 2: Entanglement Glitch

Basically nothing is happening here. I've set up the 3 turrets, and 5 guards came, and that was it. Alyx then told me that she's on her way down, but she never shows up.

After walking around that small area for 15 minutes, i stacked up some boxes and climbed back to the top. Alyx is in the corner just standing still doing nothing.

I've already checked, and the "A.I" is not disabled, anybody else run into this problem?

I had a similar problem where Alyx said she was on her way and I waited forever. Nothing happened, no enemies, no Alyx, no nothing.

I then looked around and found one dumb @ss enemy behind one the energy fields around the corner. Killed him and bingo Alyx showed up a second later.

That part should have at least 15 guards or more. I didnt have that problem. But around that same part I had 2 Alyx's spawn. One talked and shot at guards and the other just followed us around till that part was over. Don't ask me what was going on because I don't know?

I had the exact same problem. I could hear a Combine somewhere though. I realized he was up on the second floor, so I threw a grenade up there and it took him out. Then Alyx showed up right after that from the exact same spot. It was really weird......

My hl2 is messed up too. Whenever the turrets fall down they disappear. Gone. I played through it once and it was perfect. Upgraded mobo and cpu, reinstalled, and it's been nothing but problems. It stops crashing after 10 seconds now, but half the textures are messed up, the hud is corrupted, alyx looks like she's had a bunch of razor blades taken to her, and the flashlight casts shadows for objects that aren't there (looks like there's a pole in front of me all the time).

I think it's cause of a bad .gcf file(s). I've done the .gcf verifier but stuff is still messed up. I had problems with maps that were fixed by re-downloading some .gcf files, but I've already re-downloaded the entire game 3 times now.

I'm seriously thinking about downloading a pirated copy just so I can get intact .gcf files and using those...

I have the opposite problem, the freaking guards wont stop coming..... I counted at least 40 or so before i died....

I counted about 55 before alyx came. It was atleast 45 for sure before I lost count. I had to play that sequance like 10 times because i kept getting raped so hard....eventually i learned to stick all the turrets in one spot rather than spreading them between the two corridors and after a few attempts at that I barely made it through.
