Half LIfe 2 crashes during loadin

THis used to run for me and I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling but when I goto launch Half LIfe 2 or any other source game it gets to "64-bit mode active" and "Launching" then hangs. Can anybody else get this to work?
 
You might want to run HL2 on 32 bit. Try these steps below:

Open Steam > My Games Tab > Highlight Half Life 2 > Right-click to go to Properties > Select Set Launch Options > Enter -32bit inside the box > Click OK.

Now run the game and see if it works. 🙂

 
Hmm...well I guess it wasn't "-32" in that box then because I tried that and it still showed "64-bot mode active" and hangs.

Will try it tonight.
