Half Height PCI slot metal covers

i have an xps 200, i have removed the half height PCIe graphic card since i can bear with the integrated one (and it runs cooler), so now it has a huge pci hole/opening. i talked to dell and they cant send me the part, anyone know where I can find these half height pci metal covering?

try directron.com though I only know without checking that they have brackets with cutouts.

You could also use masking or duct tape.

I wouldn't spend much effort on it. PCs have been living with missing slot covers for 25 years now and it hasn't seemed to hurt them much. In fact, by creating this thread, you probably exceeded the EFFORT LIMIT. 🙂

good call. i just take mine off anyway and i usually cant find them after

well i may have a solution 😀

i need a gigabit card since 100MBPS its too damn slow for file transfers, i do have firewire-firewire networking running now between the 2 pc's, however i would like to know if there is a PCIE 1x gigabit ethernet half height low profile card available (XPS 200 only has one x1 PCIe and one x16 lane)

i tried searching newegg, and a few vendors, there are hardly any gigabit pcie cards with brand names that i've heard of, let alone half height ones... 🙁
