A while ago I put my computer for sale on Half.com and today received an email stating that someone is going to buy my computer. It says that I have to ship it out tomorrow (4/26) Here is my question:
April 24, 2002: Transaction # xxxxxxxxxxxx

Buyer: xxxxxxx Amount: $500.00
Status: Packaging Package and Ship
Shipping Reimbursement: $75.00
Half.com Commission: $28.75
To be credited to your account: $546.25

I put the asking price for $500 but it seems im getting about $550 including HALF.com's commission. So who is paying the $75 shipping reimbursement? Also im a little worried since I never bought or sold anything on HALF.com before. I am definately going to ship it with confirmation, but what happens if he says that the product is somehow damaged or that the item is not as described, then what happens. If they return it to me how will I know that I will receive it the same way as I sent it out? Also since I got an email saying that i have to ship it out tomorrow or that it will be canceled is their anyway to extend it because I will have to format all my information and get everything ready. Please respond to this email as soon as you can thanks.

Also it shows the username of the person who is buying my product, is their anyway to check his feedback and information thru half.com

What I dont understand is how do they expect people to have everything ready and ship it out the very next day. If i ship this out I will be without a computer for at least a month as im in the process of building my own.

I'm assuming the buyer is paying for the shipping so you're getting $575 minus half.com's commission of $28.75

The $75 is coming from Half.com I think. I've sold a lot of stuff on half.com but I never bought so I'm not sure. I believe that once the buyer decides to purchase he/she has to pay half.com during purchase. Half.com then waits a given amount of time to send you the check, so if the buyer doesn't complain by then, you'll get your check.

How do I know if a buyer receives the item I shipped?

Once you ship an item to the buyer, Half.com does not receive confirmation from the buyer that they received the item. In the rare case of a problem with an order, such as damage in transit or the package exceeding its expected arrival date, Buyers have the ability to contact you directly using Half.com's Buyer/Seller Communication tool. The Buyer/Seller Communication tool will provide you with options to resolve this problem with the buyer.

So when the bidder signs for the package, how will HALF.COM know for sure that he received it. Will i have to email them. Im a little confused.

Also can someone answer my question, if i can extend to ship out the item at a later date rather than tomorrow.

I have sold about 20 items on half.com and go by the rule no news is good news. The buyer will contact half.com if there is a problem. As long as you have some sort of tracking you should be alright.

As far as buying time, I believe you have 48 hours to confirm the sale, then you are allowed 24 hours to ship the item. So don't confirm the sale until Sat. and mail the computer on Mon. since the post office is closed on Sun. I have mailed packages a day late before and have never had a problem.
