Ok, So i bought a book on half.com ~ 13 bucks after shipping fees so its no big deal. Anyways it never showed up. This past monday was the 2 week (i think its 2 weeks) mark where i could finnaly contact the seller and complain that its not here. So i did that tuesday morning. As of right now i have hear nothing from the seller. Im definately going to give them the weekend before i start complaining big time since it could very well be someone who doesn't check thier email during the week (a used bookstore that sells its products B&M as well as on half.com). So if i dont hear from them by monday should i

A. send another email
B. contact half.com saying they didn't send me the item and demand a refund (YMMV of course)

Also can you get Delivery Confermation on media mail?

Whats a reasonable amount of time to expect a book to show up in? There are alot of disclaimers about media mail taking awhile, but i have never had to wait more than 1.5 weeks on something, and now its been 3.

The "official" rule on media mail is like 30 days or something. It's pretty long.

He's right, media mail can take that long ... I've had it happen to me twice (both on eBay).

I recently purchased a brand new book and used DVD on Half.com received both within 10 calendar days of payment received.

I have bought so many programing books from them in the last month the mailman asked me to put the credit card away. He was getting pissed about lugging large boxes of books up my 1/8 mile gravel driveway.

All of them showed up withing 2 weeks, most within the week. I even recieved a GBA game from hong kong in 2 weeks.

As far as i know media mail basicly means we load the truck up with all the priority, all the first class, then any mediamail/third class that will fit. If it doesn't make it today we'll try tommorow.

But its still never this slow. I have a feeling someone confirmed it before they got ready to ship it, then forgot. It will probably show up in 2 weeks and he'll pretend nothing happened.

I suppose i will wait another week or 2 before getting upset.

Half has always been pretty good to me. However, I bought something from Ebay and it took four e-mails (3 of which went unanswered) two phone calls, and 30 days for the product to get here. His excuse? "Oh, my ISP was down." Uh-huh.

Regardless, as others have state, the longest delivery time is 30 days, so your hands are pretty much tied till then. I would however send the seller another e-mail on Monday stating that ordered a book, it's been 3 weeks, and the fact that he/she hasn't responded to your previous correspondence.

If matters escalate and the book isn't here by the 30 day mark, I would send the seller one last e-mail requesting your order status and informing him/her that failure to respond to this e-mail will result in you taking the appropriate measures with Half and whatnot.

Sorry if it seems harsh, but if you're a seller doing business on Half, you should have the common courtesy to respond to your customers in a timely manner.

You have to wait a month before you can report it anyways.

No matter- half.com is being discontinued next year anyways. Too bad- I got some really good deals on there. Far too many people peruse Ebay to make the "Buy Now" option worth using.
