Half.com email asking for bank information? Legit or fake??

I haven't clicked on the link yet, but it looks real enough...but I'm still kinda leery of these kinds of emails:

Hello,

You have been doing well as a seller on Half.com.

In an effort to ensure the continued safety of both our buyers and
sellers on Half.com we have instituted a buyer/seller protection system.
As part of this system, we require a successful Half.com seller to
provide us with additional information about themselves or their
business as a means by which to ensure the continued commitment of
Half.com sellers to Half.com and its community of users.

Please follow the link below to provide us with your bank account
information. Failure to provide this information could result in the
possible temporary suspension of your account.

Once you have submitted this information you may elect to use direct
deposit as your preferred method of receiving payment for your Half.com
sales. To change your method of receiving payment to direct deposit
please go to Edit Seller Info in the Your Account section of the
Half.com site.

https://www.half.com/account/auth/sellerregistration/editseller.jsp?action=update

We do at times require additional information. You will be prompted
via email, when necessary, to provide such information.

CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This message is intended only for the use of the

I am a half.com buyer (not seller) and haven't received that e-mail.

It looks legit but I'm always weary of these.

One of my e-mails (which I have never registered with Paypal) is getting Paypal scam emails 3 times a week.

When I try pulling up the page, it tells me that the certificate expired in '02/2003.

I'd *personally* be leary and email half.com and see if I could get a response from them directly.

The security certificate is expired. But otherwise it passes the firebird check. Email someone at Half and see what they say.

Safety Tips:

Be cautious of emails that ask you to submit personal information such as your credit card number or your eBay password. Some members have reported attempts to gain access to their personal information through email solicitations that are made to appear as having come from eBay. These solicitations will often contain links to web pages that will request that you sign-in and submit information. At eBay, we identify these as 'spoofed' emails or websites. Remember, eBay employees will never ask you for your password.

If you receive or suspect you have received such an email, do not respond to it or click the links. Immediately send a copy of it to spam@ebay.com.

To be sure that you are signing into a genuine eBay website, look at the Address/Location field of your browser. At an eBay Sign-In or log-in page, the URL (link) that appears in the Address/Location field of your browser will begin with "http://cgi.ebay.com/" or "http://cgi3.ebay.com/" (see the following illustrations).

lease note that the above examples apply to the eBay.com website. Our international sites will have slightly different sign-in URLs. A more complete set of URLs is listed below:

United States Sites

Site Sign-in/Login URL
Ebay.com http://cgi3.ebay.com/...
http://pages.ebay.com/...
http://cgi.ebay.com/...

https://arribada.ebay.com/...

Just go to the My Account page at half.com. If there's some urgent action required like this email suggests, it'll be right there on the official account page.

That first solitary line just seems a little off, "You have been doing well as a seller on Half.com." Not professional.

I always say that no legitimate company will ever ask for personal information through an email.

Bingo. They have no reason to and there would be some legal ramifications if something happened.

FRAUD!! Don't be gullible. Reputable companies will never solicit information from you via an e-mail!!!!!!!

Learn this! Remember this! Don't become another victim......
