Haircut, how much do you tip

My old hairdresser charged $20 for a haircut and I would tip her $10 for an even $30.... got an appointment with a new girl that does my friends hair and she charges $25, is $5 too cheap of a tip? I'd like to keep my haircuts at $30 and i'm not really sure whats a normal tip for a mens haircut... obviously if I were getting highlights or something else I would give more.

Been going to my barber for a while, he just got a job at a new fancier salon that charges like $45 for a men's haircut however he still charges me $12...pretty cool.

I tip him $5 usually.

just the tip

I came in here to post this.

If they get me in and out in 15 minutes, I round up to the nearest dollar plus $5. If they take 1/2 hour, its whatever the nearest dollar is plus $2.

If they make me bleed, the get jack.

This thread makes me feel cheap. I've been tipping $4.05 on a $14.95 cut.

Although, I did tip $0 one time on a $9 "promotional" cut when she buzzed my head after failing to comprehend how long 3/4 of an inch actually is. After this incident I always speak in terms of razor attachment sizes.

Since my wife usually trims up my hair for me, I give her the whole tip and then some. 😛

You, sir (ma'am?) are an asshole.
Stop that if you don't want #6.

$12 +$3tip

Actually tip more on the boys cut. Blond and stick straight. Very difficult for them to get it blended right.

I pay nothing.

My hair cutting slave (Wahl) lives in the bathroom, and lives on a few drops of oil. Keeps his damned mouth shut too, or he gets the cord.

My barber charges $11 for a Men's haircut (extra styles are more, like fades and shit, but no matter what I get he does it for $11) so I tip him $4 or $5. Depends on how well I got paid that week, poor college student. 🙁

Although he owns the barber shop so whatever he gets paid he keeps, unlike the other trolls who (all suck) get paid via tips.

$2

When I'm paying $15 (not including a tip) for a haircut that takes 5-10 minutes, that's all they're getting out of me.

20 dollar hair cut, normally tip 4-5. Because of the tipping I get extra service like a neck massage and free touch ups.
