Haircut- Credit card not charged Tip

got a haircut last week for $9 w/coupon.
i left $3 tip.

i checked my statement today. only says $9.

anyone else have this happen where the person forgets to enter the tip amount into the final charge?

Service places will run the initial charge through the system immediately.

Then an adjustment with the tip will follow 2-3 days later when the actaul paper receipt is verified.

Happens all the time when paying for pizza with a credit card and you tip on the CC. $20 pizza and you tip $5? You will see a pending $20 transaction, the final amount will be $25 when it does clear 2-5 days later.

This. I always see the retail amount as a pending charge, then the final amount a few days later.

Never had that happen, but once on vacation my card got charged for only the tip amount. Dinner for two, $9.

I am a hotel manager but sometimes I ring people up in our coffee shop there have been times when someone wrote in a tip and I never bothered to put it in because it requires an adjustment to the payment in the POS system and its not worth the trouble if I am busy.
