Hair Raising episide on the cricket pitch

It all started when the umpire Daryll Hair accused the Pakistan team of tampering with the ball which indicates cheating. They continued with the game until the tea break. After the break they refused to come out wanting to protest. The umpires and the England team visited the pitch twice before the umpire removing the bails. When the umpires were returning from the pitch, the Pakistan team did come out but the umpires failed to reemerge. Later it was decided by the ICC (Cricket's ruling body) that the test was forfeited by Pakistan and the Pakistani captain may be charged for bringing the game into disrepute. This is not the first time Daryll hair has had problems with Asian teams. Last year he no balled Sri Lanka's muttiah Muralitharan 7 times in a test match for throwing. (after he had been cleared). All Asian teams had been protesting against Hair officiating in their matches for a long time now.

Cliffs:
Pakistan were accused of cheating without evidence by the umpire
The refused to play
The game was ruled forfeitted
Daryll Hair is a racist.

Why don't they just replace the ball with a new one when it gets scuffed up?

Because a new ball is equally dangerous if not more than an old one. It depends on the weather conditions, pitch and bowler speed, lenghth action etc. The new ball is also significantly faster. It maybe more predicatable though. A team may decide to take a new ball after 80 overs (4800 balls).

More stupidity happened today when it was revealed at a press conference that Hair offered to quit for $500,000
