on NBC they were interviewing a guy who said, the best way to tell if there is anthrax near you is using a cat. A cat only needs 100 some spores to become infected and die, while humans need around 10,000. so if you have a cat and it dies then get its cause of death checked out, because the spores will land on its hair and it will like them off.

F*ck gas masks, there is gonna be a run on cats!

Just like you don't die immediately when you get anthrax, I doubt a cat would, so that, as posted above, by the time a cat could tell you anything, it would be too late.
