I was going to clock out at work today on the Positouch system (known as a POS or "Point of Sale") when I realized that it wasn't working and was showing a BSOD. Apparently all the terminals are running NT4 and this particular one bit the dust.
Kind of funny seeing a cash register encounter a terminal error. :p
I really wish I had my digicam with me.

I've seen ATM machines before with OS/2 errors. Apparently OS/2 is still the most popular OS out there for this use.

I've also seen Windows error boxes on airport terminals screens before... it's funny to see an error on a screen like that.

Good thing the company I work for still uses DOS on all their POS controllers ... (the controllers are all old as hell IBM 486 boxes)

True. I do some contract work for NCR who make ATM's. They mainly use OS/2, but they also use NT4, and are doing XP soon.

A walmart near my house had those "self check out" machines in it for a while. The Systems ran on an Windows NT system because one time I saw an NT dump on the screen :)

The register i have at work runs on 95 i think. That'd be great to see. So far it's been fine though, excepting the badly needed weekly reboot and occasional significant lag moving through feilds

The local access channel runs ads for local companies most of the time instead of actual shows. Many times it'll crash during an ad with a General Protection Fault around midnight and stay on the same ad and crash until the 10am morning shift fixes it. Looked like Win98.

Steve, if you think thats bad, prepare to hail the new AT MS Bitch.

I did the following:

Ran a boot disk to set up win2k pro. On disk 1, got the BSOD.
I ran RIPREP and when it completed, I got an error message. "RIPREP has run successfully"

Its like there is this anti-productivity forcefield that surrounds me when I get close to a MS based OS.
