goober, don't eat just 2 pieces of bologna man, you're going to lose all that muscle you have. that's why i say don't go much lower than 2000 cal/day or lose much more than 2lbs/week. otherwise, your body will go into full-blown starvation mode and start burning a lot of muscle. as it is, you're going to lose some muscle (along with lots of fat), you don't want to make it worse. keep as much muscle as you can by lifting weights and eating a lot of protein while you keep calories low. the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism is going to be. patience is the key to making this work.
stuff i typically try to eat are lean meat (chicken, fish, lean beef), vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, etc. i'm not saying that's all i eat, but that's what makes up the bulk of my day to day diet. i think you just need to figure out what foods are hurting you the most, whether that be beer, donuts, bread, capt. crunch, ice cream or whatever, and reduce that first. count it up and you'll probably be surprised, i know i was.
check out misc.fitness.weights, there's some good information there if you're willing to sift through it.
