I just called Dell's tech support regardnig my laptop, the spacebar is screwing up at the moment and I need a replacement keyboard.

After waiting for a few minutes this guy with this REALLY thick Indian accent picks up and says, "Hello, thank you for calling Dell, my name is Mickey..."

Ahaha. I had to pause for a moment and laugh.

Does Dell really think these fake aliases are going to fool anyone?

My parents are born in India, I personally was born in Canada. I've been to India on numerous occassions. I have yet to meet a single person with a "english" name there. They give all their workers American aliases.

It's common knowledge that Indian call centers assign "American" names for their techs to use on the phone. It eliminates some of the idiots who won't deal with a foreigner.

and to think, i actually thought you had your head on straight. why in the world would you make such an ignorant statement? its a product that has a purpose, and the people who need it for that purpose buy it and they are fulfilled. it isnt advertised as being the solution to every problem. they offer good deals usually on pretty good hardware, whats the problem with that?

and yes, i have a dell, and i actually can game on it very well. it is a desktop replacement and it serves every purpose and even more than i expected it to.

haha you recognized me? is that good or bad? anyways, dell is a horrible company because it sells crappy hardware at insanely high prices (unless you find one of the good deals on the ht section, which represents about 0% of their customers). they also decieve people into thinking that they have a good computer when they are buying complete crap. they promote the mhz law of intel and fail to clearly represent anything to their customers. basically: selling non-upgradable hardware (lots of their comps dont have agp, wtf is up with that? i can see the traces on the board, know the chipset supports it, yet they fail to pay the extra .01cents to give the customer the chance to upgrade). the do loads of other stuff that is pretty dammn bad and i just dont have time to list it all. heres my best example: a 'gaming machine' with a geforcefx 5200.. for 1500$!!! do i need to say any more? non-upgradable hardware is not good, neither is their tech support (some relatives of mine have shared their experiences yeeechhhhh!), prices are insane. i dont see any good in them (except the stuff from the hot deals section, like cheap 2001fps :) )

There are Millions of people who will disagree with you, and there were be thousands who will buy today and will be happy customers. Less then 2% of customers will call in with a hardware problem within the first year. I would say those are some dang good numbers.

Just because you can build a way nicer system for the same price mean nothing to 99% of their customers, most people think of computers as a throw away item, that you replace every 2 to 3 years.

That being said, I dont or never have owned a Dell, every system I have ever had I built.

Non-upgradable hardware? Is any laptop really upgradable? Dell is no different than any other brand of laptop. You can upgrade the memory, maybe put a different type of modular bay device in it, add a wireless networking device in it. That's basically the same for all laptops, so to say dell sucks based on that is foolish.

Your ignorance is astounding. Have you ever considered testing hardware personally before badmouthing it? I thought not.

Unless you have substantial evidence that Dell sells sub standard hardware you are just another egg sucking troll.
