what codec is that done with? I reformatted the other day and now all videos I watch have very weird colors. I can *almost* see the picture but it's all neon pink and bright yellow colors.

Upgrade to WMP10 and it goes away. Not sure why this happens, but I got the same thing after I reformatted. I found one article on Google that suggested upgrading and it worked for me.
