So 2 days ago my alarm clock kind of froze up and died on me. Last night I went to go to sleep and it said "god". It stayed frozen on that until tonight when I went into the bedroom it was displaying time but 30 minutes slow. I made a comment to my wife that it was working again, and then it flipped to say "1873". After about a minute it changed back to time.

Update

Picture

It looks like it should be 9:08 but 2 bulbs are dead, but this isn't the case at all. All bulbs work and it was stuck on this for almost 24 hours.

I didn't catch the "18:73" or "F:eek:F" on camera.. but when it goes to "6:66" I'll be snapping shots.

Update #2

666

Ok, so the clock was by my tv to listen to the White Sox games because it no longer functions as a clock. Anyways, my wife snapped this pic this morning

that pretty awesome.

about a month ago my alar clock started moving at random speeds, it would take 30 minutes or 3 hours for an 'hour' to pass, eventually it settled on 40 minutes for every 'hour'

I went out and bought a new one but can't figure out the snooze, which has really helped my punctuality for my 8am class.

Soon it'll start displaying other fun things:

0000
666
OMFG
HI2U
KILL
DEAD
KTNX
BYE

Then finally a countdown.

It'll be even better if you take a picture of it saying something benign, like "12:30" but the picture shows "DEAD" instead. At that point, blood would start oozing out of the flash and lens. I would advise running away, quickly.

Seriously. If you have a picture of it saying "GOD", you could sell it for thousands I bet.

a quick search of 1873 shows something interesting:
Panic of 1873

The Panic of 1873 was a severe nationwide economic depression in the United States that lasted until 1877. It was precipitated by the bankruptcy of the Philadelphia banking firm Jay Cooke and Company on September 18, 1873 along with the meltdown on May 9, 1873 of the Vienna Stock Exchange in Austria (the so-called Gründerkrach ?founders' crash?). It was one of a series of economic crises in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

almost like what is happening now, eh?
SPoooooOOOKY!
