HAH! Finally rid of WoW!

Ok so my buddy wanted to get back into WoW and I was actually enjoying my new guild on Mug'Thol, Carebear. Because I had 5 active MMO accounts one had to go. So my buddy offered me his GW account [which was tied to yet another CoH/CoV account!!!] for my WoW account and I took it.

Finally... rid of the game that just refused the uninstall option! HUZZAH! Since I had given my old GW account to a local pal... this allows me to game with him when I am not in EVE.

On a side note... turned off both active CoH/CoV accounts. So down to 2 EVE accounts atm and that is just fine with me. 1 CoV account is patiently awaiting issue 7 to see what cryptic can further do to ruin tankers.

woot! today was my last day of wow too! if only i'd of quit six months ago, i'd still have a girlfriend lol

Does this mean that you nerds may finally have time for some sort of productive social life?

I'm married and have already passed on my genes to the next generation, so I don't need to have a real life anymore. More WOW for me!! 🙂

... says the guy hanging out at a computer hardware message board...

pot. kettle. black.

I haven't played in 2 weeks. 🙁 I log in every couple of days to check my mail and relist some auctions, but I just haven't felt like playing and neither has my wife.

Is this how a MMORPG obsession ends? It's kinda sad..

Congrats hooflung!

Now you're ready for EVE!

edit: Aaargh, self-ownage. 🙁 Just read full post.

Been in eve since 08/2003 it is the one game my mind refuses to give up for any amount of time... if only I could find a GF that played it too.

I could see it now... get married... pass off genes to nex gen like Mr. Jones... play EVE until part 2 comes out or it shuts down forcing me to write my own or play a custom d20 version of EVE. Never mind last idea... EVE : The Card Game comes out later this year I would just print my own cards if they ever closed down shop.

I quit WoW after 3 months, took another 4 months before I gave the entire thing to mate for nothing. WoW was probably one of my top 3 worst purchasing decisions in Gaming.

Any of you quitters want to sell me a CD key? Is that even allowed?

Selling you the CD key wouldn't do jack. The cd key is already tied to an account. You'd need the account login/password and you'd be good to go, after downloading the 6 gigs worth of the game or installing from a friends copy.

For the record gentlemen, you *CAN* get your girlfriend to play games with you. But you must be prepared to 'sell' the game on the merits, and upgrade her computer if necessary.

After learning about the strategy, squad tactics, and voice chat in Battlefield 2, my girlfriend plays just as much as I do.

I have been WoW free for about 2 weeks. My God I have so much free time now. Been working out, going out, and started writing music again. Its like I have a life or something. And yes, my live-in GF is very happy that WoW is gone. Now all I need to do is EBAY my account. Gotta lvl 60 hunter with full 8/8 Tier 2 and BWL XBow. I hope I can get some cash for that.

I didn't even play WoW, because I knew i'd be addicted.

<-- Former D2 player.

Good call. I've always felt intimidated by MMOs because their highly addictive nature and they people they hook creates a 'creepy' reaction in me.

5 active MMO accounts no joke? You couldn't possibly have time to play all of them? Even if so it'd just be casual level of play in each one...

I dunno, I probably could've played a couple of them hardcore (namely eve) and the others casually when i was in college. After i got a job it became very clear that games were competing for a very limited amount of free time.

However, i moved for my job and don't have friends out here yet, so i did play mmos for a while. I got out of it and have been spending my time to learn to solder (hehe, mainly to mod my ps2) and been baking/cooking too.
