Parts:
Cooler Master HAF X Case
ASUS Maximus VI Hero
I am wondering what the suggested way to hookup the fans for this case would be.
The HAF X has 6 fans:
Front: 230mm
Top: 200mm x 2
Side: 200mm
Rear: 140mm
VGA card fan duct: 120mm
Only the VGA duct has a pwm fan.
The Hero only has 3 chassis fan headers. I would like to control the fans via FanXpert in the AI Suite of software that came with the motherboard. The motherboard can control the fan speed by adjusting the voltage to 3 pin fans connected to the headers.
So I think my choices are to run some of the fans full speed all the time and just connected them via molex to the psu and connect some of the fans to the headers or install a fan controller.
If I wanted to connect most of the fans to the headers, which would be the best choices? I was thinking of connecting two of the top fans to one header via a splitter. Connect the side fan to a header and connect the 120mm duct fan to a header. Then leave the front intake and the rear exhaust running full speed. Since they are larger fans, even running them at full speed all the time shouldn't make much noise.
Thoughts?
