The internet hasn't been working the last few days even though it showed to be connected. I did a restore twice and no luck, then today it wouldn't even power on. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am assuming that there is not an apple store nearby?

Say what?

I wasn't perhaps entirely ethical...

Ordered 2 refurb gen1 iPhones without contract, they sent the order to the town I lived in with no street address on the mailing label....

They sent 2 more with a street address, and I swung by Fed Ex and picked up the original order as well.

Yeah, I'm going to hell.

though, would the genius bar do better than apple direct?

What I hear on the Apple forums is that they are hit or miss, some people end up with a replacement unit, or a nice upgrade, some are told there are none in stock to replace them with (@ the Genius Bar)

IIRC AMDHunter sent his back 4 times till they got it right... Genius Bar said they agreed with him but no units to replace it with, so he used Apple Care.

I'd just keep sending it back to them after a phone call or 2...

Just mine, the n and g bands. I have disabled security, and made the network open with no luck

There were several good suggestions in this article:

http://www.rickysays.com/ipad-wifi-network-problems

One of which you already did (the router security settings) but another was to change the wireless router's network speed to B/G mixed instead of the default wireless-n, and the Channel Width setting to 20Mhz instead of the default 40Mhz.

Maybe that helps? Good luck!

I called Apple and the lady had my check to see if I was getting an ip from my router, I wasnt getting anything in my router's range of 192.168.0.x. So she had me reset the router and that solve dit, the router gave the ipad a valid ip address
