So aboutba month ago I started to feel like my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L was telling me it was done. Had 160K on it and was starting to feel like it would need a major overhaul to "feel better". I also tow a camper that's about 4000lbs loaded and the Jeep didn't like that. It was "tired " you could say. So went out looking and came across a nice 2011 Tacoma 4x4 doublecab SR5 with only 21k on it. Aaahh much better. Went to Gettysburg camping a week later and it handled the trailer ALOT better. Just sharing.

Also the previous owner had installed a sweet Roll N Lock bed cover that cost around $1100 that I don't know if the dealership pegged me for.
And I have since derped the front grill and rear bumper. 😛

EDIT: I definitely want some sidesteps and possibly a matching bull/brush bar. And I just GOTTA change out those stock wheels. I am looking for the semi "blacked out" look.

did you replace the pcv valve you dolt!

Those Tacomas are nice, but I'm not sure how I feel about the 270hp typical v6 paired with the transmission they have in them. It's a decent medium/light truck.

I've got a 2011 4Runner and haven't towed anything with it, but am not sure how I'd feel pulling something big with it. (basically the same as a Tacoma without the bed) I have been happy with the 18mpg it gets though.

That Toyota is going to last a very long time, unlike anything from Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge.

I'm not a fan of Dodge stuff myself, but i would have to say that my experience is contrary to your statement.

My dad's 01 Dodge Ram 1500 has 210k miles on it. Other than oil changes, tires, and routine maintenance, he hasn't really had anything done to it.

My 1992 Jeep Cherokee Laredo had 212k on it when I sold it. Still ran fine when I left it.

I'm sure there are plenty of other examples. But I will say that many vehicles last just fine if they're cared for.

My Jeep ran OK when I sold it but like I said it was on the verge of needing major work. There is more to it. As in the fact that if it wasn't equipped from the factory with the tow kit they used 3.55 diffs which made the tow cap lower than the 5k rating it had if it DID come with the tow package and the 3.73 diffs. It also was unstable when towing as well even with a WD hitch and sway kit. So the Jeep didn't like towing my 4k camper. I needed something else anyway.

I will say that up until I decided to unloading it the Jeep was a pretty faithful vehicle with the largest problem being having to replace a power window motor. Like I said it was just simply at a turning point, a fork in the road persay - either sink several k into updating and refurbishing the Jeep or get something newer and stronger. Went the second route.
