Had to replace my power supply, this is what I chose

One of the fans in my current power supply started making noise, so I decided to get a new one as this one is around 7 years old...maybe more?

Anyways...going from Antec TPQ850 to a ThermalTake Toughpower 750W (Modular)

Did I do good?

I paid a fortune for that Antec many years ago. I got the TT for $114 plus a $20 MiR.

Edit:

Running an i5 2500
GTX680

Not the unit I'd have bought, but it should be a great unit. Gold rated, nearly 750W on the +12V, manufactured by CWT. No reviews available, so it's impossible to say if it has any design or build quality flaws, or how it actually performs when put to the test.

For a single GTX 680, it's overkill, you could run two 680's off of it.

If the old antec is out of warranty, it would be wise to remove the fan and replace it, or if it has a bearing plug under the sticker, you can peel it back and put a few drops of synthetic oil in it.

Worth it to have as a spare.

Good idea. I will tear it apart and see what can be done.
