*sob*

Picked her up around 10PM and found out she was in some pain...put her down, and saw that her back legs weren't working :( :( :( Rushed down to the vet...what a tortuously long drive, for both of us :(

Seems she had a clot break loose and cut off the circulation to her back legs, not that uncommon, according to the vet. Poor prognosis, and she was obviously in a lot of pain *sob* So I had her put down :brokenheart:

Buried her down by the shed just now...she used to sit up on her 'cat pole' and watch that part of the yard (she was an indoor cat).

RIP Silver

Here she is snoozing in the doorway of my computer room, as usual....what a cutie.

What a crummy evening :(

I've gone through that experience before -- like loosing a best friend.

My sincere condolences ...

Sorry to hear about passing of your precious cat, Silver, jc.

My wife and i recently lost 2 of 3 of our cats. Morris was put to sleep and Mr. P. J. died at home in my wife's arms a week and a half apart from each other just prior to Christmas.

Morris would "study" with me when I was taking network enginneering class and Mr. P. J. was our guardian angel. He stayed with my wife when she fractured her wrist and during her recent breast cancer ordeal and also stayed with me after my surgeries for carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands.

We have no children, so our cats are our loved ones. The pain of loss is unbelievable.

I know your pain... I hope you can find solace in that she's no longer in pain, and is looking down on you gratefully. :brokenheart:

May she rest in peace and you find peace knowing she is in a better place and not suffering anymore.

Rainbow Bridge

A child once asked of one old and wise, if animals go to heaven. The reply:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills and valleys with lush green grass and warm spring weather for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; the old and frail animals are all young again; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. All the animals are happy and content, except for one small thing. They each miss someone who is very special to them - the one who loved them on earth, and had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent! The eager body begins to quiver! He or she stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring!

Suddenly he or she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his or her legs carrying him or her faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together?.never again to be?.Separated.

Dangit, me too. *sniff* :(

I have had several friends lose pets recently, and I couldn't find this story. Thanks Smoke, as I will be passing it on.

I'm sorry to hear that JC

Our little cat Lucy is very old and has become such a part things around here. (she's 17)

Last year, she got sick and was a day away from the choice you had to make.. I was taken very offguard when I felt how deeply it touched me. You have my empathy for a lost friend.

My parents just had to put down the dog I grew up with...dog was 19 (I'm 28) so he definitely lived a long life and we knew it was coming but that doesn't make it any easier. Sorry about your loss.

I am also saddened to hear of your loss.

A few years ago, 2 days after Christmas a guy set his Girlfriends apartment on fire.

I lived in the same building.

I got out with my 2 cats KeKe and Tia and a pair of shorts with the fire actually over my head running down the stairs.

I left the cats with a Friend the next day while trying to find an apartment to live in.

The Friend called me and told me Tia sounded like she was in pain.

I took her to the Vet and he told me the same thing about a blood clot.

When I called later they said she was getting better so I drove to the vets that afternoon.

I was so relieved but when I arrived they said she took a turn for the worse and they had already put her down.

I was speechless, I took her home and buried her in My Parents back yard.

I hadnt cried since I was young but that day I could barely see to drive home.

Sorry this is so long, it brought back memorys of Tia and the fact that she a blood clot also.

I had never heard of cats getting clots before and thought it was a fluke.

Warmest regards.

Richard.
