It's worse over here.

A bunch of unoriginal bastards make parody threads every day.

Politics & News (other forum)
They had rules there?
I'm scared to go there. My flamesuit isn't strong enough. I need to upgrade.

Yep. I enjoy reading the flamefests although I choose not to participate too much anymore. Seems pointless as most topics usually devolve into "Bush is a moron" and "No he's not, you are". Too bad that like the neffers take over threads here in OT, the haters take over the threads in P & N. It's difficult to have a lengthy discussion of any reasonable nature.

I have always found that its not worth arguing politics with people.
For the most part people believe what the believe and no matter what you argue,
they really are not going to say, oh you were right and change their beliefs. So,
basically it comes down to the person feeling that there beliefs are being attacked.
And when you attack peoples believes they get hostile.

Its not even worth trying to start politics discussions. Because even if you look at
the thread on What is a Democrat? and What is a Republican?. Two valid questions
on what those political parties are and stand for. It ends in attacks from both sides.

Thats why I follow a strict rule that I will not argue politics with people, especially
friends. Cause there is no point.

Wise words. I 100% agree, but it has nothing to do with politics and news. I can't remember the last time i talked anyone into changing thier mind. (politics, religion, computers, how to cook a corndog) Anything.

People spend to much time with the attitude they are right and everyone else is wrong, why bother.

Wait, there were rules in P&N? Since when? And when did they drop 'em?

That was my question.
Me too. I thought it was always just flamefest city in there. I saw a bunch of guys clamoring about "free speech" in several of the threads so I'm assuming they were referring to recent rules changes.

I'm glad that forum exists. Personally, I was getting sick of all the same old political threads cluttering up my perfectly good OT fluff threads like YACT, YAGT, YA*T every single day. I'm serious too. At least off topic has arguments about admittedly light-hearted subjects that eventually can be laughed off most of the time whereas the guys in those threads would just as soon shoot each other if they were having the same argument face-to-face. I pity the moderators who have to deal with that forum.
