4WD will eat me up in gas. Plus i don't go anywhere that I need a 4WD.

Although I will admit that my dream truck is a Dodge MEGA CAB, 4x4.

I wanted a stickshift, but I have a wife who cant drive one. So it was either get the automatic, or replace the clutch every 3 months.

Since it's a Dodge you'll just be replacing the tranmission every 6 months instead.

I kid! I kid!

I looked at quad cab Dakota's but ended up going the new Frontier route.

Still good trucks for the family man with youngsters who needs the utility of a truck bed. What was the final price out the door?

Wow, I hope you didn't pay $10 grand for it. Mileage is kind of high and those aren't the most reliable vehilces on the planet.

Edited to remove blantant honesty. :p

I have had a dodge dakota since 97, my first was a 95 club cab, then I traded that on a 98 club cab, which was then totaled for me by some idiot who could not handle his ram. Now I own this one. My 3 year old son loves it too. my wife was driving it, and he kept telling her to be careful with daddy's new truck.

Eventually the drop in liner will be removed and I will replace it with a spray in liner. Then add a diamond brite single lid toolbox on the back. I will then probably add a trailer hitch and heavy shocks because I do a lot of landscaping around the house. and wit the shorter bed, I will need a trailer.

<-- has an '02 CC, 4.7+manual.

Best gas milage: 22MPG, mostly highway.
Worst gas milage: 13MPG, about 50 short trips in 230 miles.

Oh no... you got the V6, and it is the 3.9.

It will run forever(!) but it isn't much fun, especially if you tow.

My 93 has the 3.9 V6 (yes it is the same engine, multiport fuel injection) and it has 198,000 on it. I changed the timing chain at 190,000 and that is the only work that has ever been done on the engine.

Hopefully your air conditioning works. If not, it will be hte evaporator core and it sucks to replace on the gen 3s! hehe

That is a truck, especially if you are on a budget, have a mortgage, and will have to buy another vehicle in the next 2 years.

Love that truck
still pondering getting a 4.7L 4x4 of that era, but the gas prices are my main reason for not getting one. mechanically they are great trucks causing little problems.

Very nice, I like :)
