had my first hd poop on me

20gb maxtor d740x-6l line

first it wont format into NTFS (i had to do either fat32 or run linux)

then occasionally on boots it'd give the LOUDEST most horrible sounds ever...forcing me to reboot.

warranty expired 6-2-02

my first and only HD to die on me was a 6GB maxtor...RMAd it and its still running 2 years later. odd enough... my 500MB Conner is still running.

I dunno... it's with my cousins... its still my computer but i guess they have a better use for it... its on a Pentium 60MHz.

I have had 4 or 5 HDs fail on me. I guess that is what I get for buying IBM 60GXPs.

Same deal with me except they were IBM 75GXPs...3-4 dead
